Our committed leaders desire to help children connect to Bible study and then personalize Biblical truths. Games, music, and lots of fun are all a part of the PreSchool and Children’s Ministry.
We strive to challenge all children to “love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength” (Mark 12:30)
The Preschool Ministry at FBC The Colony is not merely used as child care but as a comprehensive ministry designed to teach children, ages birth through 4 years of age, about God's love and His Son Jesus. In our preschool area, our trained staff and volunteers will ask you to sign in your child. Your child’s safety and security is very important to us. Your child will be given a temporary numbered ID name tag and you will be given a matching ID ticket. When you pick-up your little one, your ID ticket will be matched against his or her ID name tag.
Our Preschool Ministry continues to teach your child at 10:30am while the parent can attend the worship service also at the 10:30am time. For moms who are still nursing we have a Nursing Mothers Room (Rm. 137) during the worship service that also has a TV for you to see and hear the service.
Wednesday evenings from 7-8:15pm: preschool boys and girls (potty trained - 4 years old), learn about the Gospel and learn about missionaries while they play games, make crafts and serve. At various times preschoolers will learn songs and participate in outreach both on sight and off sight. They may also perform for the congregation on occasion.
Our dynamic Children's Ministry, designed for Kindergarten through 5th Grade, is a safe place for children to grow and learn about Jesus. The Bible is what we teach from.
On Sundays at 9am, our children meet for Community Groups/Bible Study all together in "The Lighthouse" due to Covid-19 distancing. We currently are using The Gospel Project curriculum. The children participate in various activities while also hearing stories that teach them Biblical truths that can be applied to the lives they live. At 10:30am our children are to be picked up from The Lighthouse to attend the 10:30am worship service with their family.
Some of our weekly ministries for children include RAs (Royal Ambassadors for boys) and GAs (Girls in Action for girls) on Wednesday nights at 7pm.
Wednesday evenings from 7-8:15pm: Known as RA's, this ministry reaches out to school age boys grades K-5, providing quality time with caring men who teach them what missions are all about through mission stories and discipleship. The last Wednesday of the month is our "Family Night Service" where all children, youth and adults meet together for pizza at 6:30pm and then the service at 7pm in the sanctuary. There is a suggested donation of $2 a person for the food.
