Christ reached out to people of all ages and backgrounds and at our church we desire to do the same. That is why you will discover our ministries are geared to various life stages and needs. We have a place for everyone to study the Scriptures, fellowship together, and minister to others through numerous service opportunities.
At First Baptist, you come as you are. You will see members jeans, pants, dresses and a few with a suit. Wednesday night's Bible Study is also casual and informal.
Pastor Mark and the elders preach expository messages from the Bible with practical applications for life. This means God's Word drives everything that is said instead of props or personality.
The Bible, like a lion and lions, does not need help inspiring awe. If your soul is empty and you crave's God's Word, you will be well-fed and satisfied in your spirit.
Our services are life-giving to the glory of God. We believe theology should drive doxology, not man-made tradition. We focus on the essence of worship, not the form of worship. As we grow in our understanding of God, the expression of praise and worship should grow as well. We sing new and ancient songs, often with a full band. Sunday morning worship begins promptly at 10:30am.
We have young and old, single and married, those with and without children. The majority of our members are families with children and teenagers, but there are also those who are young married and singles of all ages.
You can keep your baby in service with you or take advantage of our excellent preschool ministry. In our preschool area, our trained staff and volunteers will require you to sign in your child. Your child’s safety and security is very important to us. Each worker in the preschool ministry has passed a background check. Your child will be given a temporary ID bracelet and you will be given a matching ID tag. When you pick up your little one, your ID tag will be matched against his or her ID bracelet.
There is a nursing mothers room available with our service live streamed to watch the service as you care for your baby. This is located in room 137 in the hallway to the left of the Church foyer.
Youth (6th – 12th grades) meet at 9:00am in The Harbor for a dynamic Community Group experience complete with a student band, large group excitement and small group (age graded) Bible Study that makes a difference in real life. Each worker in the youth ministry has passed a background check.
Children (Kindergarten – 5th grades) meet at 9am for Community Groups in graded classes in our children’s areas. Through various activities and stories they learn Biblical truth applied to the lives they live. Your children are dismissed from the main service (10:30am) after the music portion to Children's Church. Each worker in the children's ministry has passed a background check.
Preschool children (ages 0-5 years) enjoy age-appropriate crafts, activities, songs and Bible stories taught by our loving preschool workers and volunteers in our Preschool area. These preschool classes are taught at both 9am and 10:30am with different activities in each session. See “What do I do with my baby” above for check in procedures. Each worker in the preschool ministry has passed a background check.
In addition to the 10:30am worship service, we offer caring small group Bible studies at 9am called Community Groups, for everyone. Each Community Group has its own special personality and engages the participants with effective Bible study, real ministry opportunities, and encourages loving fellowship within the class. These small groups are great places to find new friends and grow in Christ.
First-time guests have special reserved parking on the east side of the building. Look for the blue painted curb located next to the sidewalk that leads to the main entrance. For inclement weather, we also have two covered drop off locations. One on the north side and another on the west side next to our preschool area.
