Preschool Ministry

The Preschool Ministry at FBC The Colony is not merely used as child care but as a comprehensive ministry designed to teach children, ages birth through 4 years of age, about God's love and His Son Jesus.  In our preschool area, our trained staff and volunteers will ask you to sign in your child. Your child’s safety and security is very important to us. Your child will be given a temporary numbered ID name tag and you will be given a matching ID ticket. When you pick-up your little one, your ID ticket will be matched against his or her ID name tag.

Our Preschool Ministry continues to teach your child at 10:30am while the parent can attend the worship service also at the 10:30am time.  For moms who are still nursing we have a Nursing Mothers Room (Rm. 137) during the worship service that also has a TV for you to see and hear the service.

Tuesday through Thursday, every week during the school year, we offer a fully accredited preschool program called Cornerstone Kids . This program offers a Christian-based curriculum that includes age-appropriate learning centers and activities.

Children's Ministry

Our dynamic Children's Ministry, designed for Kindergarden through 5th Grade, is a safe place for children to grow and learn about Jesus. The Bible is what we teach from.

On Sundays at 9am, our children meet for Community Groups/Bible Study in graded classes in our Children’s areas. We currently are using The Gospel Project Curriculum. The children participate in various activities while also hearing stories that teach them Biblical truths that can be applied to the lives they live. At 10:30am our children are to be picked up from their classes to attend the 10:30am worship service with their family.

Some of our weekly ministries for children include RAs (Royal Ambassadors for boys) and GAs (Girls in Action for girls) on Wednesday nights at 7pm.

The Harbor Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry of FBC, is dedicated to preparing today's youth to be tomorrows productive Christian adults. This is accomplished through quality Bible studies, fun events, and opportunities of personal growth for each teen. In addition, each youth has the opportunity to interact with several different caring adults on an individual basis so they will have a friend to turn to during this difficult time of growing up.

Youth Community Groups/Bible Study meet on Sunday mornings at 9am in The Harbor.  On Wednesday nights, youth meet for an energetic worship service called L.I.F.E (Life Is For Everyone).  Youth Choir meets usually during the school year (September-April) at 8:30pm in the Sanctuary.

College/Career & Young Adults

The College/Career & Young Adults meet for Community Groups/Bible Study on Sunday mornings as 9am in Rm. 134. After Community Group we all come together for corporate worship at 10:30am in the Sanctuary.

The Anchor our College/Career & Young Adult Home Group, exists to help college age young adults grow in their walk with Christ through Bible study and fellowship. We meet in the home of Dave & Lora Beth Davis, 6212 Durango Dr., in The Colony at 7pm for a free meal and then Bible Study about 7:45pm.

Worship Ministry

The Worship Ministry of FBC are designed to lead us to worship God in spirit and in truth through the use of music, instruments, and drama. Currently we practice on Thursday nights at 7pm.  If you are interested in being a part of this ministry you must be a member of FBC The Colony and you must complete a Worship Ministry Packet.  This can be sent to you by contacting the worship director.

Grief Share

**Note: Grief Share is NOT currently meeting at this time.  This ministry meets at various times during the year.

It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now.  If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you’ve probably found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. That’s the reason for GriefShare, a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close.  GriefShare leaders are people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.

Celebrate Recovery

**Note: We are sorry but at this current time we do NOT offer the Celebrate Recovery ministry.  Please check around the area for other churches that might offer this ministry.

Celebrate Recovery is a recovery ministry based on biblical principles with a goal to let God work through us in providing His healing power through a Christ-centered 12 Step program. This experience allows people to be "changed" spiritually by working through sound biblical principles. Participants open the door by sharing their experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, they become willing to accept God's grace and forgiveness in solving life's problems. Celebrate Recovery provides a safe place for individuals to begin their journey of breaking out from their bondage and into God's grace (2 Corinthians 12:9), by helping them to start dealing with their life's hurts, hang-ups, and habits.

Women's Ministry

**Note: At this time we currently do NOT have a women's ministry.  Please join us in one of our Home Groups offered throughout the year or be a part of our Sunday Morning Community Groups/Bible Study at 9am.
