Where are you located? We are located 1 block east of Main Street (FM 423) at 4800 S. Colony Blvd in The Colony, TX. (Directions)
How Should I dress?
At First Baptist, you come as you are. You will see members in suits and dresses as well as jeans and T-shirts. Wednesday night's Bible Study is also casual and informal.
Who attends FBC?
We have young and old, single and married, those with and without children. The majority of our members are families with children and teenagers, but there are also those who are young married and singles of all ages.
What are your services like?
We believe theology should drive doxology, not tradition or personalities. As we grow in our understanding God, the expression of praise and worship should grow as well. Currently, we offer two services: Sundays at 9am is a traditional service with hymns and choruses accompanied by piano and organ. At 10:30am we have a contemporary service with an excellent worship band (guitars, drums, and keyboards). If you choose the second service, come early because seats are becoming scarce.
What do I do with my baby?
You can keep your baby in service with you or take advantage of our excellent nursery ministry. In our preschool area, our trained staff and volunteers will ask you to sign in your child. Your child’s safety and security is very important to us. Your child will be given a temporary ID bracelet and you will be given a matching ID tag. When you pick-up your little one, your ID tag will be matched against his or her ID bracelet.
Where do my children go?
Youth (6th – 12th grades) meet at 9:00 AM in The Harbor for a dynamic Sunday School experience complete with a student band, large group excitement and small group (age graded) Bible Study that makes a difference in real life. At 10:30 youth sit with their parents or other youth in the contemporary worship service.
Children (Kindergarten – 5th grades) assemble in two different ways. At 9 AM, our children meet for Sunday School in graded classes in our Children’s areas. Through various activities and stories they learn Biblical truth applied to the lives they live. At 10:30 our children begin by sitting with their parents in the Contemporary worship service until the music portion of the service is completed. At that time they are dismissed to Children’s Church where they continue to worship and learn in an age-appropriate setting.
Preschool children (ages 0-5 years) enjoy age-appropriate crafts, activities, songs and Bible stories taught by our loving preschool workers and volunteers in our Preschool area. These preschool classes are taught in each hour (both 9 AM and 10:30 AM) with different activities in each hour. See “What do I do with my baby” above for check in procedures.
Where do I go?
In addition to the two worship services we offer caring small group Bible studies in our adult Sunday School area for everyone. In each hour (9 AM or 10:30 AM) there are classes for couples of all ages as well as classes for men or women. Each class has its own special personality and engages the participants with effective Bible study, real ministry opportunities, and encourages loving fellowship within the class. These small groups are great places to find new friends and grow in Christ.
Need Breakfast?
We know that getting the whole family ready for church on a Sunday morning can stress out even the most organized families. To help everyone get going on Sunday mornings, we serve a light breakfast from 8:15am - 8:50am every Sunday morning. Sunday Morning Breakfast is free and open to both guests and members. MORE>>
