God never intended for us to travel on this life's journey alone. He promised that he would never leave us nor forsake us, but He also gives us each other to support and encourage one another and to help each other grow to be more like Christ. The Apostle Peter tells us that our enemy, Satan, 'prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.' A lion always looks for the animals that have been separated from the rest, but there is safety and strength when we stick together. That is one of the reasons Jesus established His Church here on earth: so that we wouldn't have to go it alone.
God's design is for you to be connected with an active, vibrant, Bible-believing local fellowship of believers.
There are 4-steps to become a member of First Baptist Church, The Colony, TX:
- Make or have made a personal profession of repentance and of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Baptism by immersion as a believer as a symbol of salvation
- Completion of the Membership 101: Discovering Membership (This step is currently optional but highly encouraged, pending the adoption of a new Constitution and Bylaws.)
- Affirmation of the FBCTC Membership Covenant (Formal affirmation of the Membership Covenent is currently optional but highly encouraged, pending the adoption of a new Constitution and Bylaws.)
